Join the Friends and Floating for a tour of the Freshwater Marsh and music by Qur'an Shaheed and Sharada Shashidhar at sunset in Ballona Discovery Park!
We are thrilled to announce this collaborative program with Floating as part of our Summer Series at the Ballona Discovery Park. Floating is a weekly all-ages outdoor arts series that explores the harmony between soundscape and landscape. As a collective, their programs nourish symbiotic relationships among kindred artists, environmental organizations, and unique land projects with the goal of inspiring deeper interdependence among our local communities, cultures, and environments.
With its incredible biodiversity, rich cultural history, and ability to store and sequester carbon while filtering air pollution, the Ballona Wetlands is a natural wonder and critical ecosystem of native flora and fauna. Whether it's your first time exploring the wetlands, or you're already an expert in the 300+ species of birds that can be spotted in the area (wow!), join us for a lovely walk at the Ballona Discovery Park led by our docents and staff and a serene sunset paired with contemplative music.
