Explore the world beneath your feet with Dr. John Dorsey!
Local water quality and wetlands processes researcher, retired Loyola Marymount University professor, and most importantly surfer for 64 years, John Dorsey will lead participants through the beauty and science of organisms, elements, plants, and all things lagoon and beach related! John’s knowledge is as broad as the beautiful shores he has studied, and he will cover a lot of content and be able to answer many of your burning questions like “what impacts the tides,” “why do we see bioluminescence” and “what is that bug!” If you’d like to familiarize yourself with this content ahead of time, check out this link.
The tour is typically 1.5-2 hours; however, as this is our first public tour we are still sorting out the best length of time. Participants are welcome to leave before the tour is complete if needed.
